Although appearing less appetizing than most of their round and red supermarket cousins, heirloom tomatoes, grown from seeds saved during the previous year – they are often green and striped, or have plenty of bumps and bruises-heirlooms are more flavorful and thus in increasing demand.

答案选B 可以理解哪位大牛能告诉我A,C 差别在哪里错误在哪里？。

不是大牛，简单分析下：
A. heirloom tomatoes的位置在...cousins后面，看上去像是修饰cousins，是个同位语。意思错误。
B. heirloom tomatoes错误同A, 第一个they指代不清，后一个They也不清楚，因为前面分句的主语也是个they.不知道指代的什么。

LZ按照逻辑理解一下，破折号后面的they应该是指代主语的吧，而原句是说这种H番茄没有他们的近亲好看但是味道尚佳
所以重点不是说H番茄的都应该不看

我觉得是这样的，

they are often green and striped，这部分可以忽略，它的作用是描述H tomato不好看的补语。

A项，前面appearing 部分是修饰H tomato，后面grown部分也是修饰H tomato。这样 although的半句话，主语是H tomato，没有谓语。

B项正确，although H tomato，grown部分做修饰主语，apper部分做谓语表达不好看含义，they are 部分做H tomato不好看的补充说明。

C项一样，一是they和 H tomato太远，二是与A一样的问题，没有谓语

破折号起补充说明作用，可以略去。
A Although appearing less appetizing than most of their round and red supermarket cousins, heirloom tomatoes, grown from seeds saved during the previous year 没有谓语
C heirloom tomatoes后仍然缺一个谓语
不知道解释的对不对等待更多讨论

OG13体现出一个新的规则，although 和though相比，最大的区别是although必须跟一句完整的句子而though不用，所以A错；选项C的逻辑关系极其混乱，heirloom tomatoes到底是主语还是cousins的同位语非常不清楚，而且在GMAT中能不出现人称代词尽量不要出现，C选项与其它选项相比无缘无故出现they就已经是错误答案的标志了。D选项省略了让步标志词although错误，E选项出现了run-on错误。

AC的错误在于，相比于B，AC两个选项破折号前都不是完整的句子，这不符合破折号的正确用法。

这里，although后面跟的是状语从句，heirloom tomatoes是主语，grown...是后置定语修饰heirloom tomatoes。所以破折号前的句子主干只有主语，并不是主谓（宾）的完整结构，故不符合破折号用法。

lz，不好意思我还是对D有一点问题：一定要用although让步状语结构吗？我觉得D项念着挺通顺的啊！前面是修饰H tomatoes的状语，后面是主句H tomatoes 谓语appear，这样理解有错吗？

再一次纠结此题~我觉得D是不是句子结构上有问题
句子1——就当是插入成分好了——句子2
那么句子1和2之间没有连接词了啊~
所以不如B好~清晰的让步状语从句
求指点？！

让步状语确实很好，后面的转折是重点。但破折号和逗号之间的也算是插入语吗？

我也觉得D读者顺口，没什么太明显的原则错误。OG解释是说Grown from seeds这半句写在开头，显得太过重要，看起来好像是heirloom tomatoes appear less appetizing的原因，这跟事实不符。尽管如此，老实说我还是觉得D挺好的。。。

本来来找答案的,自己又认真看了下选项,除了B之外的每个选项都出现了两个主语....注意下破折号后面的heirlooms

bold part=main clause
so no conjunction between main clause 1 and main clause2

我的想法，希望对大家有帮助
1. although 开头，意味着两件事：
a. although引导的句子必须是完整的句子（主谓语都存在）
b. although 引导完一个完整句子后，还必须有另一个完整的独立句子出现。因为although 引导的都是非独立从句（dependent clause。）

2. 根据上面1.a, 选项A是错的。因为although 引导的句子却动词谓语verb。
               选项c 是错误的，因为they 没有antecedent先行词。

3.  “Deadly Five” 最容易出现的问题是单复数不一致. 但是选项c 的错误是they 没有先行词。
只要看到这5个单词出现，先看答案选项，如果答案选项有区别，看antecedent是什么                               当使用it, they, 或者其他表示人的pronouns时，它们代表的是和antecedent 同一个东西

红色部分为句子的主结构
Although heirloom tomatoes, grown from seeds saved during the previous year, appear less appetizing than most of their round and red supermarket cousins－ they are often green and striped, or have plenty of bumps and bruises

其中Although heirloom tomatoes appear less appetizing than most of their round and red supermarket cousins 是第一个非独立从句（注意：一定要是主谓语都存在的完整句子）这部分印证1／a 的知识点。 they are often green and striped, or have plenty of bumps and bruises。是能够使although 引导的非独立从句成立的独立句子，印证1/b 的知识点

希望大家评论一下我的思路，看看是否正确

我觉得这个解释我能理解。但是我看曼哈顿的书上写：The dash (—) is a flexible punctuation mark that the GMAT occasionally employs. You can use a dash as an emphatic comma, semicolon, or colon. 那若是作为；这里不应该是三个独立的句子么？

本来想选B但是看到although后接的是一个名词heirloom tomatoes,就排除了。although后面接的句子可以被修饰语或者逗号隔开吗

说一下我的看法，我刚做错的原因也是认为they可以指代supermarket cousins，但是回看的时候我发现this is not an issue。有两点：1）they并不是在划线范围中，五个选项的主语也都是heirloom tomatoes，所以这一点不是大问题。2）从语义上看，前句supermarket cousins已经被描述为round and red，这里的green and striped就肯定不会来描述supermarket cousins了

非常同意。我刚开始也在纠结B或者D，因为他们两个都有完整的句子结构。无法排除D的原因在于Manhattan里说"-"可以作";"，但后来在想，两个dash中间的句子主语恰好是代词，如果把dash当做","，中间当成一整个插入语，那D明显就是两个independent没有conjunction。

博主，你说如果破折号可以看作分号的话，两个破折号中间的they是错误的原因。为什么呢？？they不可以指代前面或者后面句子的名词吗？

我觉得ACE是重复了主语 heirloom tomatoes和heirlooms D是两个句子之间缺少连词

其实好多人在说破折号中间的内容可以略去，其实破折号中间的内容才是解题的关键（能看懂的话），这个插入语they are often green and striped, or have plenty of bumps and bruises解释的是为什么这种番茄不如超市里的那些好吃，作为一个解释应该跟被解释内容里的尽量近一点。

我觉得D没有语法错误，只是在表达句意上不如有转折的句子。

本句强调H番茄看起来不怎么样，但是实际味道不错。然而读D项，D句前半句说，哦，H番茄看起来不如它的兄弟好吃，中间来了个破折号形容H番茄看起来是如何的不好，然没有一点点防备：说H番茄味道好所以需求量大。因此我觉得D的两句话（忽略Grown的修饰和破折号里的句子）中间是没有逻辑联系的。

D没有转折，前后两句话就矛盾了呀，前面一句话说看起来不好吃，后面直接来一句其实是好吃的，中间大家不觉得差点啥吗
