正确答案为B，LZ理解平行结构，但对于分号的用法，依稀记得分号之间只能是完整的句子，好像不能是分词短语的？

分号还有一个不太常见的用法就是分割本身含有逗号的句子并列，这样避免了都用逗号造成的句子混乱。PS:参考Manhattan----"A minor use of the semicolon is to separate items that themselves contain commas."

我想问一下该题的E项的解释:"Although this version maintains parallelism throughout"。是指什么样的平行结构啊？？

我怎么觉着E选项印刷错误了，把冒号印成了分号，我在国外论坛上发现了这样的讨论帖：
Since colon is used to explain something further
Hence in the below sentence -

they pollinate banana, breadfruit, and mango trees: indirectly helping the producing of
the phrase "indirectly helping the producing of " is explaining WHAT ??? As per this option, this is explaining the pollination of banana, which is non the intended meaning. See my previous post about the intended meaning. The sentence should talk about the 3 outcomes of the main clause -
Tropical bats play important roles in the rain forest ecosystem

See, you are correct as per sentence structure, however the issue here is not sentence structure but the intended meaning. You are losing on the intended meaning per se..therefore you are going wrong.

Moreover,Please see the rules of colon. The colon should tell you something about the previous clause and should follow a list of items.

Such as -

Three factors affect the GMAT performance: Study, Time Pressure and Luck.

Here the usage of colon is correct. Also, one more check for colon, You can insert namely or that is after the colon, if that makes sense the usage of colon is correct else INCORRECT.

See whether the above check in your sentence makes sense. IT will NOT.

可以参考manhattan的第四版的的Page 185 倒数第三行开始的说明。
