Minivans, which carry as many as seven passengers, compared with mostsport utility vehicles the cost is lower, and they OA：A 对于D选项 PREP解释：compared with结构有修饰前面的carryingas many as seven passengers的歧义，dangling modifier。 Manhattan forum上的说法：the main problem withchoice (d) is the fact that “carrying...” is written as a modifier, so thatthere is an implication that it describes the following clause. i.e., theimplication in choice (d) is that those comparative facts about minivans vs.other vehicles are only true when the minivans are actually "carrying upto seven passengers". 首相两种说法不太一致。 我个人的想法跟前面两个都不太一样，但是我比较倾向于Ron的解释。 我是这么理解的：把这个句子提炼结构得到——S，V-ing，V-ed，VO这么一个结构。我还是认为这里的V-ing是作为noun modifier来修饰前面的主语minivans，同时v-ed也是作为一个noun modifier来修饰主语的minivans，这两个修饰成分修饰主语，实则就是表明了主语的一种状态（联系OG12上科学家脑科学的那个题目，那个题目中的【S，v-ing，VO】这个结构中，实际上v-ing就是表明了科学家所处的一种状态），即这个minivans在carrying的情况下，同sport car相比，有后面的一系列get better gas mileage, allow passengers to get in and out more easily等等。 所以说，我的观点基本跟还是同意Ron大神的，但是唯一一点不同的就是Ron大神说：“carrying...” is written as a modifier, so that there is an implication that it describes the following clause，这一点我不太认可，求讨论作者: zhongshanlh 时间: 2012-5-19 09:10

我觉得这题就是夹心修饰会导致歧义的问题：S，V-ing，V-ed，V+O。 这中间两个S的modifier并列放在一起是会产生修饰歧义的，通常把他变成这样V-ed，S，V-ing，V+O（或者Ving，Ved的位置互换）才能表意清楚。 其实我不太zhongshan兄这里的研究方法，这两个modifier这样放就是会产生歧义修饰的，知道了，毙了选项就好啦~其实Prep和Ron的都不矛盾，你不用去深究它是错误修饰S还是后面整句，因为它放的那个位置就是错的。作者: teddybearj4 时间: 2012-5-20 10:56
