A应该不存在一个就近修饰的问题没有从句只有主句一个动词build，而且in。。。是一个介词短语不是主要部分，在分析句子的时候可以化掉的，即OWS build webs所以with就修饰整个句子了，with表伴随时都是判累赘的 D的话就近修饰了作者: 幸运E枪兵 时间: 2012-5-17 17:28

对于这个问题也不是很确定。 绝大多数情况下，【comma + preposition】 的结构置于句末还是作为adverbial modifier and modifies the preceding clause，所以在正确答案D中，这个with结构应当还是个adverbial modifier并且修饰的是前面整个这个定语从句：that are essentially wheel-like。 相比之下，A中前面只有一个独立主谓宾的结构的句子，所以按照一般的规律，这里的with还是作为adverbial modifier就是修饰前面整个的句子了，所以不合适。作者: zwhjzwhj 时间: 2015-3-2 12:58
