Patience is usually not a good strategy. We should take action now rather than later.
If the question asked was whether or not an action that is quickly taken is always wrong, and required an absolute yes-no answer, I think the answer had to be a resounding “no”. While patience can be important and necessary, there are many actions that are best suited to impulsive, spontaneous outcomes.
In a sense, we are living in an age when the “jungle law” and the “survival of the fittest” rule prevail. The burning desire for fortune or status may all be the driving forces behind competition. Under that fiercely competition, people always have no time to make more preparations because the opportunity never waits you. Therefore, the urge to win can compel us to take action immediately without patience.
At the same time, taking action promptly is necessary on the way to success. People who get too caught-out in careful planning often find themselves unable to make decisions. They choose patience and are looking for more and more information in order to make a well informed assessment, but they are taking along. For example, the CEO who plans the moves of his company cautiously so as to minimize the possibility of failure faces tough competition in the business world. In order to stay ahead of his rivals he will take actions on the fly to beat out competing companies.
With that said, there are, of course, situations which do require patience to make sound thougts and considerations before taking an action. For instance, as for me, buying an apartment or a house is a very big decision to make. In this circumstance, I would not make a choice without careful evaluation of all of the information available.
