问题1：
看到解释说，within 后面的it代替a language.但是句子怎么复原呢？
distinguishing between A and B within a language?
问题2
B选项除了them和 try doing是否可以看作伴随。表示整个句子的状态？

1.你搞错了，within a language也是你说的B的一部分；
第二点不会，但是选with的，我迄今为止只看到一个正确的。

1）完整的题目应该是这样的吧：

Nobody knows exactly how many languages there are in the world, partly because of the difficulty of distinguishing between a language and the sub-languages or dialects within it, but those who have tried to count typically have found about five thousand.

A) and the sub-languages or dialects within it, but those who have tried to count typically have found
B) and the sub-languages or dialects within them, with those who have tried counting typically finding
C) and the sub-languages or dialects within it, but those who have tried counting it typically find
D) or the sub-languages or dialects within them, but those who tried to count them typically found
E) or the sub-languages or dialects within them, with those who have tried to count typically finding

答案是A

但你说的很对， within 后面的 it 指代 a language，因为它不可能指代sub-languages 或者 dialects (负数）。
句子应该这样复原：
...difficulty of distinguishing between A (a language) and B(sub-languages or dialects) within A (the language)...
……辨别一个语言和它（这个语言）之中的方言……

2. B选项有三个地方错
them错了，因为含义不单一，既可以指代sub-languages又可以指代dialects。（一般就近指代，那语义就变成了“方言中的方言”说不通了。）
try doing 和 try to do 的意思不一样：try counting = experiment with counting , try to count = seek to accomplish counting
finding不可以因为去掉typically这个修饰词，句子就变成了...those who have tried finding about 5000. 只有主语，没有动词，句子不完整。

还有记住 GMAT 上 try doing 和 try to do 两个里面选99.9% 的情况都是try to do

try doing和try to do关于99.9%概率一说，并没有那么绝对。但是，try doing= experiment doing, try to do= attempt to do 这个说法是正确的，所以要靠在不同句子中的语义不同来区分是最稳妥的办法。

B选项，with其实是在语法上是独立主语表伴随的用法。但错误还是在语义上。这道题里，尽管语法上正确，但明显应该是用but表转折表示事实上他们到底发现了什么，而不是简单的【一个伴随】，来扩展主句的意思。

求问bat大神A选项中的those who have tried to count typically ...count typically之间代词them的省略会不会造成歧义呢？ thx~

不会的，因为完整句子最后说了five thousand，那就肯定数的东西是个【复数的东西】了啊。

而且，个人感觉，有了them后才会更乱。因为没有them的话，读者可以意会它是数了【languages】，发现有5000个；但是有了them的话，就必须得有指代对象。是指代languages,还是sub-languages？这里就自己造出麻烦来了。
