标题: 跪求解释！关于to do结构 [打印本页] 作者: pwii 时间: 2012-4-6 09:54 标题: 跪求解释！关于to do结构 prep 07 practice 1 第69题的解释中说to do结构只能修饰动词，不能用于修饰名词。所以with the sole intent to sell是错误的，应该改成with the sole intent of selling。 但OG 10th 84题有一句：One legacy of Madison Avenue's recent campaign to appeal to people fifty years old and over is the realization that as people age, their concerns change as well.这里的to appeal 不就是修饰了名词campaign吗？ 此外我们常用的结构the way to do sth不也是用to do 结构修饰了名词了吗？ 求解答！！作者: movcn 时间: 2012-4-6 12:48
谁说TO DO 只能修饰动词不能修饰名词啊？照本宣科误人子弟啊。。。。
NOUN+TO DO表示SOMETHING TO BE DONE WITH THE NOUN
eg: a letter to write, a car to drive, a risk to take
另外，TO DO 也必须加在某些抽象名词ABSTRACT NOUNS的后面,也是修饰这些名词的
eg: ability to do..., ambition to do..., a request to do..., an effort to do...,
