这道题答案说D，然后解释那里又说E。其实两个感觉都可以，如果是D,就是a burst of smoke would appear...and make.出现并且使得。如果是E，a burst of smoke would appear ...to make...烟雾的出现所以使得。。。

哪种说法更对呢。。

选择E，又没有想过把when挡住，其实就变成would appear to make。。。。，并且含义与前部分的eliminated the possibility中的可能性呼应。。。。逻辑语义更加明确。
