OG 105题目如下：

105. An inventory equal to 90 days sales is as much as even the strongest businesses carry, and then only as a way to anticipate higher prices or ensure against shortages.

(A) as much as even

(B) so much as even

(C) even so much as

(D) even as much that

(E) even so much that

正确选项A没问题。可偶对OG中的解释：In choices C, D, and E,

even is misplaced so that it no longer clearly modifies the strongest businesses不太明白.even修饰the strongest business 是对的，可如果把even提前，改成an inventory equal to 90 days sales is even as much as the strongest business carry觉得读起来也挺顺的,好像也没错的说。。。

虽然没有这个选项，可偶对even的用法比较糊涂，总是跟着感觉走，还请大家帮忙讲讲even的用法，为什么og说even is misplaced ....。感谢感谢！

even通常是緊跟著要修飾的形容詞

如果位置變了，修飾的對象也跟著不同

因此即便是CDE都改成as much as ,但因為 even位置變了，句意也模糊了

The idiomatic form for this type of comparison is as much as. Thus, choice A is best. The phrase so much as is used unidiomatically in choices B and C; so much as is considered idiomatic if it is preceded by a negative, as in "She left not so much as a trace." In choices C, D, and E, even is misplaced so that it no longer clearly modifies the strongest businesses. Moreover, the use of that rather than as is unidiomatic in choices D and E.

虚心求教，为什么even作为副词可以修饰名词（the strongest bussiness）呢？

刚好看到这题，菜鸟手册上说even 是副词修饰the strongest，可是偶还是觉得这个even是修饰名词businesses的，不是副词修饰the strongest.翻译过来就是“即使是（最强的）商业企业”

Here, inventory is countable nuon. but "as much as even the strongest businesses carry" means 同最强的business carry同样多的货物,这里as much as 前后把共同的宾语货物给省略了, 而货物是不可数的, 所以用much.

对于OG11的这种说法，我赞同！

Even后面只要是比较级都可以吧，不一定要修饰最高级

像 EVEN BETTER

但是even as...as...好像很少看到，不知道可不可以。

我就是觉得想 even\only这类副词，摆放位置一定要小心加小心，尽可能地使得意思清晰，不能按照粗略的感觉来走的。

比如 OG11 3

Diabetes, together with its serious
complications, ranks as the nation's third leading cause of death, surpassed
only by heart disease and cancer.

ONLY 如果移到surpassed前面变成 Diabetes, together with its serious
complications, ranks as the nation's third leading cause of death, only surpassed by heart disease and cancer. 感觉上也还都的通，但是OG里面也不行。it says " Only
is placed with precision next to the group of words it actually limits, by
heart disease and cancer. Placed before surpassed, only would more ambiguously
limit surpassed." 意思也确实没有前面那句清晰。
