51.   While Jackie Robinson was a Brooklyn Dodger, his courage in the face of physical threats and verbal attacks was not unlike that of Rosa Parks, who refused to move to the back of a bus in Montgomery, Alabama.

(A) not unlike that of Rosa Parks, who refused

(B) not unlike Rosa Parks, who refused

(C) like Rosa Parks and her refusal

(D) like that of Rosa Parks for refusingA

(E) as that of Rosa Parks, who refused

Choice D does not make clear whether it was Jackie Robinson or Rosa Parks who showed courage in refusing to move to the back of the bus; in fact, saying for refusing rather than who refused makes it sound as if courage moved to the back of the bus.Choice A is best.

Question - why D is incorrect here??

Rosa Parks for refusing to move to the back of a bus in Montgomery, Alabama。

1.not unlike是双重否定,表强调,XDF的观点,所有强调不能改;

2.D的错误之一,歧义,his courage in the face of physical threats and verbal attacks was like that of Rosa Parks for refusing to move to the back of a bus in Montgomery, Alabama.

=his courage was like that of RP for refusing to move.

his courage in the face of physical threats and verbal attacks was like that of Rosa Parks for refusing to move to the back of a bus in Montgomery, Alabama.

=his courage was refusing to move.

I think the red should be "his courage was like that ..... ".here for refusing is a prepositional phrase, modifying his courage or that of...

Rosa Park
