答案是D，我也选了D，因为在不考虑谓语动词的数的情况下，D最简洁，但是，还是觉得应该用复数的谓语动词与主语20 percent of the leaf and small-stem material相对应。请NN指教。。。

其实这题关于可数或不可数用as much as就可以判断出来，如果用as many as，我认为用复数比较合理，至于as much as用单数就合理了，所以，此题的答案选取不是不考虑谓语动词，而是一定要考虑谓语动词。

谢谢stoneren，但是，much只能表明leaf 和material 分别不可数呀，主语的中心词应该是 20 percent of the leaf and ... material，那么在这种...percence of + n. 做主语的情况下，谓语的单复数应该由后面的n决定，两个不可数名词并列应该视为复数呀，（从它的同位语the parts of the plant which were most nutritious也可以看出）。。。请指教。。。
