OG107

选E。

有一些关于单复数的疑问:AorB的结构,谓语不是和B保持一直吗?OG有一点解释是Since water and services are being discussed as a pair, they should logically be treated as a compound suject requiring a plural verb; thus, the singular verbs "exists" (in B and C) and "is" (in D) are wrong.
为什么这里这么解释了,不明白什么时候应该把A or B看成a pair,什么时候跟B保持一致,还有一个问题就是到底和A还是B一致,还是就是用复数呢?看过以前的贴子,未解决

这里的a pair是从逻辑上确定的，并非语法问题。

更明确一小点：当主语由and连结时，如果它表示一个单一的概念，即指同一人或同一物时，谓语动词用单数，and 此时连接的两个词前只有一个冠词。例如：

　 The iron and steel industry is very important to our life. 钢铁工业对我们的生活有重要意义。

也就是說有時候 A and B is , 也有時候是用are 得由句意判斷

即便是連接詞改為or ,也會有單複數的問題，請大家繼續討論

这题，little 修饰模糊，所以A，B，D都可以开始就排除了；

A and B 谓语通常用复数；特殊的情况我举个例子你就明白了～

可是在107这题中,OG的解释很明确, the singular verbs "exists" (in B and C) and "is" (in D) are wrong.是因为water and services are being discussed as a pair也就是说它的解释的原因不是因为SERVICES是复数,而是因为两个名词看成一个复合概念.如果按STONEREN所讲的意思就是说因为是逻辑意思上的判断是一个A PAIR,所以这里用复数是吗?还有一个问题:There be A and B 的谓语由什么决定,是A还是B,还是A和B共同决定呢?

我還是很困惑.

看了所有這道題目的相關討論, 都是base on把"or"改成 "and"之後到底該用單數還是複數, 或者"為什麼用and不用or", 是因為ETS認為用and比較合適...

可是ETS不是要求我們不要改變題目原意嗎? 題目就告訴我們是or啊?!!! 雖然我知道這裡是"矮子裡拔將軍", 沒有其他更適合的選項了, 可是我對於ETS要把or 改成 and 還是覺得很困惑... 假如選項中還有個跟E一模一樣, 只是把and換成or的, 那要選哪一個啊?

另外FEW 修饰可数名词, LITTLE 修饰不可数名词.

從頭再看了一次帖子

發現有些問題還是沒有個結論

我個人在做時

覺得正確答案E

(A) there are few services and little available water

像是改變了句意

1.原句是要"or",也就是二者擇一

可是答案用and

2.再來,aviailable的位置實在奇怪,他拿來修飾water

那麼services呢??

是後置形容詞嗎??這樣的說法好像又過於牽強??

3. 原句其實用了exist,所以改成available,會不會造成改變句意之嫌???

請指教

覺得正確答案E

像是改變了句意

可是答案用and

那麼services呢??

实战手筋：

1、little只能修饰不可数名词,few只能修饰可数名词，他们都不能同时修饰两种，答案要有二者，ABD都只有一个，隐含省略相同项，排除ABD。

2、进一步，按句子意思和本身性质，water和services不是二择一的关系，而是a pair，应以and连接，排除ABD。

2、主谓数一致性考虑，排除C。

我来猜测一下available的意思：

there be句型已经表达了近似exist 的意思，avaiable water 表明： ets认为该area并不是没有水，而是有水还没能利用（城市里水按理应该有的）。这样，就更确切表达。例如我身边不是没有gg,只是not available,有女朋友。there are no available boys, not " there are no boys"

这道题我的ＸＤＦ老师讲了一个惊人的理论　但是在目前我也不知道该信哪个的前提下　姑且讲出来让大家听听～

首先　there be这个结构就近所以是there are 因为这个　there 靠近few services

然后这里原文中用or 我觉得是因为little这个词有否定的意味意思就是没有多少水和服务

我亲爱的老师他告诉我们当一个句子里出现一个否定词时,and连词变成or,但是当两个否定词出现时,就像E中的there are few services and little available water or 就又会变成and

请各位NN指正~

few和little在意思上是否定，但语法上肯定，只有not，no，none之类才是语法否定。

语法否定的句子用or表并列，语法肯定的句子用and表并列。
