语法笔记的解释是：

C. should位于句首引起虚拟语气下的条件状语从句，要是完整的句子，该句的showing应为show

但是，对于C选项，可否这么理解？

test scores作为主语，showing their students' mastery of reading skills作为后置定语修饰test scores，而has improved则是谓语。而且似乎improve test scores也很自然……
