答案是D。
但是A的解释说even是副词不能做连词，请问A中even other parts of the world是个句子？？？难道是在even和other之间省略了 have the possibility for feeding?也就是even （have the possibility for feeding ）other parts of the world？

答案是D。

这是个prep phrase，没有谓语怎么能是句子？！

难道是在even和other之间省略了 have the possibility for feeding?也就是even （have the possibility for feeding ）other parts of the world？
不是很明白LZ的意思。这题LZ没必要过分纠结这里的结构，通过语意解题就可以了。
首先，could比have the possiblity简洁，E同时出现，重复，排除A、B、E。
再看the continent和other parts of the world明显是一个平列关系，even的出现稍微一点递进。但绝对没有因果关系，排除C，留D。

连词不一定非要连句子，也可能连结构，

没有and的话even other parts这个成分就很奇怪，总不能做同位语吧。

另外楼上说了can更简洁优秀。can＞possibility

could只是情态动词而已，并没有用作过去式
