这道题的正确答案是E，E读上去也很顺，但是我在做题的时候首先就排除了E，因为it虽然是形式主语，但是句子中出现的it等代词指代的对象要一致啊，第一个it指代的是to prevent crimes against property ，不能放到第二个it中来理解。难道it做形式主语的时候就可以不遵守指代一致了吗？

好问题，以前的确没想过。我做的时候，第一反应是比较的平行。

我的理解是这样的，既然是形式主语，所以必然有明确的指代对象，不是to不定式就是that从句。既然有明确的指代对象，所以也无所谓指代是否一致了，反正不会有歧义。

请大家指正。

rhod兄说的有一定道理，但是根据另一道题

According to a recent poll, owning and living in a freestanding house on its own land is still a goal of a majority of young adults, like that of earlier generations.

(A) like that of earlier generations

(B) as that for earlier generations

(D) as have earlier generations（E）

(E) as it was of earlier generations

这个题目A不对的理由就是因为that指代不清，而E选项的it有明确的指代对象

所以真的有点搞不清了，我一开始选的是B，是不是相对于those against a而言E选项更好呢
