Tounderstand the most important characteristics of a society, one must study itsmajor cities.

Write a response in which you discuss theextent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain yourreasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting yourposition, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might nothold true and explain how these considerations shape your position.

I fundamentally agree that we must study some major cities in order to understand the important characteristics of a society well. Since the major cities are generally the center of a country’s politics and economics which are the most essential features of a society.

In the beginning, politics, a core ofthe society, often concentrates in major cities, especially like the capital of a country. Politics not only leads the development of the domestic andinternational economics, but also maintain a stable and harmonious society. Tounderstand the politics of a society, the best choice is to go to its capital. Forexample, many critical conferences are held in Beijing, which is the capital ofChina, so a large number of officers get together in Beijing to attend theconferences. They participate in discussing the policies and raise some localproblems, and at last they make an agreement on solving those problems.Moreover, some international officers often go to Beijing to negotiateeconomical development tendency and political issues with Chinese leaders.Consequently, the major city can convoke people easier to discuss the currentproblems, which must be studied to get well known the society.

In addition, another main characteristicof a society is economics. It is commonly accepted that the place whoseeconomics are advanced is generally in major cities. A striking example is NewYork City. As is universally known, NYC is an economical bellwether of Americaas well as a tie of the world. The financial prosperity of NYC to some extentreflects and promotes other field’s development. It is very necessary for us tostudy from NYC’s economical system and management approach, which may leadother countries to make an achievement in economics.

Aside from the foregoing two aspects,however, we cannot ignore studying some small towns, even the countryside, whichalso plays extremely important roles in a society. The gap between the wealthand the poor has been expanding over the recent years. We cannot only see theprosperity in major cities, but neglect the people who live in rural areas. InChina, the majority of people are peasants who still have a miserable life andhave to face the dangers of starvation and exposure. If we do not take thosepoor people into account, we may live under the illusion that most people havea comfortable life like the people living in major cities.

In conclusion, studying the majorcities is an effective way of understanding a society, which contributesdirectly to knowing its essential characteristics, such as politics, economicsand the like. At the same time, we cannot overlook learning from some smalltowns since they are an indispensable part of the whole country.

very nicely done! Just remember that the ease of reading is very important, so don't worry if you have to work a little longer on making sure that words don't run together and that you only have one space between each paragraph.
