i think E is correct.

C的最大问题是：however 前后没有构成转折关系，Proponents of irradiation point out that irradiation is no worse in this respect than cooking.可以转化成：because the irradiation is no worse in this respect than cooking, some people proponents

however 后的内容应该是说因为什么什么原因，所以不应该支持irradiation, 这样才能构成however 前后的转折关系。C 中只是说这两种不同的方法有各自不同的目的而已，不能说明irradiation 不好，体现不出however 的意味。尽管C也算是一种misleading.

E指出了 irradiation and cooking 加在一起会使事情变得更糟，而不象暗含的假设的那样“因为两种方法都同样破坏，所以用irradiation 无所谓”

这道题前面有过精彩的讨论，这里后面since的内容无疑是只需要说明misleading，the fact( irradiation is no worse in this respect than cooking)而C说不能拿这两者比较，也就是说出了比较这个fact是误导。E是无关选项。
