B是说还是bacterium导致疾病，virus是辅助的，原文是说virus导致疾病。C增加virus导致该疾病的可能性，故为答案

所以選C

选项B中The virus has been shown to aid the growth of bacterium，和原文中一样都提到了virus和bacteruim的关系。

而答案C中The virus alone has been observed in many cases of the disease.却并没有说明virus和bacteruim的关系，也没有说明virus是导致diease的主要因素。

还请高手指教！

原文的意思是这种病发现在细菌和病毒都出现的时候，所以表明了对于这种病究竟是由什么引起是不确定的。

文中的结论是virus that causes the new disease

要去证明这个结论，只要证明在病毒单独出现时这种病出现就可以了
