个人觉得E主要改变句子意思，原句说although air怎么怎么样，而E说although carests and troughs是怎样形成的，另外E还是用了被动，更把原句的remain这样有含义的系动词扔了不好

在原句逻辑意思正确的情况下尽量保持，然后保持原有意思这一条不要用来优先判断

还不能到看简洁的问题上，因为remain是不能乱扔的词，例如 sth remain stationary一样东西保持不动跟 stationary sth不动的某东西，不是一个意思。

寻找be动词对应，剩下CE，比较。E选项with “XXXX”是更简洁，但是读起来不对，with后面飞出来一个although来转折，前面说的pattern，你既然以with打头，是不是少了个动词来呼应呢？

with the crests and troughs that remains stationary although the air that form them is moving rapidly." 是独立主格结构做插入语 with+n.+名词的修饰语，其中 that remains stationary although the air that form them is moving rapidly是the crests and troughs 的修饰语。

E选项中修饰语with the stationary crests and troughs although they are formed by rapidly moving air不正确的独立主格结构， although they are formed by rapidly moving air没有办法修饰crests and troughs
