21. A society in which there are many crimes, such as thefts and murders, should not be called "lawless" That is an abuse of the meaning of words. As a suffix "less "means "without" so "lawless" means "without laws." However, a society that has no laws has no crimes, because no laws can be broken. A lawless society would, therefore, be a crimeless society. So what some have termed a lawless society should actually be called "crimeful".

If the statements in the passage are true, which one of the following must also be true?

(A) A society that has laws has crimes.

(B) A society that has no crimes has no laws.

(C) A society that has many laws has many crimes.

(D) A society that has some crimes has some laws.

(E) A society that has many crimes has many laws.

A,D有区别吗, 我选的是A。

24. Although all contemporary advertising tries to persuade, only a small portion of contemporary advertising can be considered morally reprehensible. It nevertheless follows that some attempts at persuasion can be regarded as morally reprehensible.

Which one of the following, in its logical features, most closely parallels the reasoning used in passage?

(A) None of the chemicals used for cleaning the Sistine Chapel will affect the original dyes. Hence, the colors used by Michelangelo will be fully restored.

(B) Not all operational tracking studies are conducted to illustrate exact corporate returns on investment. Hence, some of these studies are not reliable.

(C) A good manager always makes important decisions on the basis of adequate data, although of course some managers fail to do this. It follows that some managers are not good managers.

(D) There is a direct correlation between the number of times you repeat something and the degree to which you retain it. Therefore, repetition is always a critical factor in remembering.

(E) Some short poems are thematically pluralistic, since some sonnets are characterized by such pluralism, and all sonnets are short poems.

  小声问一下,没看出e和原文有什么相似的地方啊。

能帮忙说一下里面的逻辑关系吗?

细细

TO ZTLBOX,请一次只贴1题,以便解答

21。原文:a society that has no laws has no crimes。推理为no laws推出no crimes 。逆否命题为:crimes 推出laws。故D对。A为laws 推出crimes,是逆命题,错

24。原文推理:所有A(contemporary advertising )tries to B(persuade),只有部分A应受C(morally reprehensible)。所以一些B应受C。

E的推理:所有A(sonnets)是B(short poems),一些A有C(pluralism)特征。所以一些B有C特征。

上面两个推理是类似的。

21. A society in which there are many crimes, such as thefts and murders, should not be called "lawl ...

7-4-21

Spot the question type: Must be true ( Necessary Assumption )

Core of the argument

1. if a society has many crimes ---> should not be called lawless

2. Less ---> Without so, Lawless  ---> without laws.

3. No laws ---> No crimes because no laws could be broken

4. Lawless ---> Crime less

Conclusion: Lawless ---> Crime ful

Well, so, apparently, what is necessary to rely on if there is crime would be that there must be the law to be broken.

let us dive into the answers.

A. Negate it, A S has laws has " no " Crime ". It does not refute the argument, since we still need " people " to break the laws, right ?

B. Negate it, A S has no crimes has laws. ( Crimes ---> No laws ) It definitely must be wrong, since if there is crimes, we must have " laws " to be broken.

C. Just as A, it is not necessary.

D. Negate it, A S that have some crimes has " No laws " perfectly refute the original argument above

E. It is not necessary to be true either.

Spot the question type: method of the reasoning - Parallel reasoning

Argument structure:

All C act P, only some C is MR, So some of A of P is MR

A. No Ch acts Cl on S will affect D, So, MC---> R ( No )

B. Some of OTS ---> Exact, SO, Some of OTS ---> Not exact ( No )

C. GM --- > ID ---> AD, Some M fails, SO, Some M ---> No GM ( No )

D. RS and DR ---> DC,  CRF of Rem ---> Rep ( No )

E.  All Son ---> SP, Some Son ---> P, So SP ---> P ( Correct )
