50. W: I don’t know how to make the deadline; one of my professors is away and probably won’t sent

her letter of recommendation for 2 weeks.
M: Oh, that’s just the formality just sent the job application form

我的问题是：M的对话后半部分容易理解，但是对于just the formality不理解，我查了字典，好像是“要求必须做的”。哪位对这方面背景了解的朋友帮忙解答？谢谢了

Letters of recommendation are not essential.

It is probably too late for the woman to apply.

The deadline for the application is in two weeks.

The woman should request a more formal letter.

我用金山典查formality,有拘泥形式手续的意思

从这个意义上理解选A是没错的
