pp语法笔记解释：(D) to make 的修饰对象有歧义，原句是修饰 deal 的，但不定式的逻辑主语又可以是句子主语。
og上对d的解释："as a part of a deal" to make suggests that the deal itself includes" making the company the largest manufacturer" rather than its being the outcome of the deal.
og和语法笔记上的解释是不同的。语法笔记说to do 有修饰主语的嫌疑，而og上说这里不定式的确修饰deal，但是表达的却是deal的本身特征。
那么，（1）不定式这里为什么优先作定语修饰deal？（2）又为什么修饰deal表达的却是错误的？
我的看法：
（1）不定式可以作状语和定语。因此可以修饰主语，表达主语的目的，同时可以修饰名词，表达修饰词的特征。
作目的状语：人 xx to do xx
翻译成人怎么着了，目的是怎么着。这里to do 目的状语，表达人 做出某行为的目的。那么，这个句子里，这种用法能表现出公司购买东西的目的么？ og明确告诉了：不能。
问题出来了：为什么不能？各位乡亲父老怎么看不能的原因？
我的解释：
问题出在as 身上。公司 花钱买什么东西，（这事儿）as a deal to make。。 这个as 隔断了to do 与公司的连词。as a deal 是对前文的修饰，而不是通常所说的一气呵成式：“人 干了什么 为了什么。”所以to make 被限制为只能修饰deal。
征求各位看法：不定式什么时候可以跳跃，什么时候不能跳跃？还是不定式优先作定语？
人 提出一个方法/建议 to 干嘛。这种用法很多吧，to do 的逻辑主语是哪个？
（2）to make 修饰deal 为什么og上说：："as a part of a deal" to make suggests that the deal itself includes" making the company the largest manufacturer" rather than its being the outcome of the deal.
我想确认下：是不是to do 作定语不能表达出修饰词的结果，只能表达出修饰词本身的某些特征.是不是要和他修饰的词有逻辑上的主谓或者动宾关系？
如果如此解释，就说明deal 本身不包括“将公司变成最大xx”这一内容。

特别提下这道题。这里c选项不定式是不对的。 因为他没有逻辑主语，discovery 不能发出to determin 的动作。修饰clue也不能发出该动作。
只能用for doing 表示目的。

再问：
“，to do”这种形式是不是连状语都做不成？
如果可以作目的状语的话，那说前半句话的method 的目的是为了protect可以不？
或者是因为to do 需要有动作发出者？
不定式还真是纠结~

当不定式做状语时，有逻辑主语时时候自然要求逻辑主语合理。
