B C because和because of 改变原句意思
E since改变意思

all of choices，D is the best in simplicity.
B:reference of they is ambiguous.
C:having is incorrect.
others I am sort of agree.
why D? is it lack of "be"which should be ahead of"aware"
no. cause there are some idiom usage ,such as"fond of,sure of,and aware of". without be,they can be use as participle phrases.
for instance,she is a girl fond of flowers.same deal.
