写的第三篇A，借鉴了很多东西，时间还是不太够也没时间检查，思路也不太清晰，球拍~~~~12G时间紧迫啊，狠狠拍！~~

【32】The following appeared in a memo from a vice president ofQuiot Manufacturing.

"During the past year, Quiot Manufacturing had 30percent more on-the-job accidents than at the nearby Panoply Industries plant,where the work shifts are one hour shorter than ours. Experts say thatsignificant contributing factors in many on-the-job accidents are fatigue andsleep deprivation among workers. Therefore, to reduce the number of on-the-jobaccidents at Quiot and thereby increase productivity, we should shorten each ofour three work shifts by one hour so that employees will get adequate amountsof sleep."

Write a response in which you examine thestated and/or unstated assumptions of the argument. Be sure to explain how theargument depends on these assumptions and what the implications are for theargument if the assumptions prove unwarranted.

The author in this argument concludes thatdecreasing employees working time by one hour will no foubt(doubt) increasing their workproductivity. While it seems to be logical, at first glance, to consist withthis arguer before a close scrutiny; however, as a matter of fact, given solittle specific evidence cannot back up this argument. Thus, suppositionunwarranted and implication bias, due to inadequacy and partiality from ambiguousclues.

To begin with, the first underlyingassumption operated in this argument is that fatigue and sleep deprivation isthe main reason why A had a higher percentage in on-the-job accidents.But thereis no explicit clues show that that is the real reason. Maybe the workers in Ahave worse handle on machines or, just because A is lack of a definiteguideline for workers that guiding their activities. Even if worker(workers) are fatigue all lack ofsleeping, other factors may involve. So ,that is , the author fail to make usbelieve the fatigue and sleep lackage(deficiency)is the major reason of a higher accident percentage. If there is no assuredevidence bolster the statement, this implication is questionable and untrustworthy.

Secondly, the editor partially grounded hisconclusion on the assumption that A has a higher accident percentage thannearby industries--P. However, lots of questions were overlooked by the arguer.Are these two industries share the similar factors? Differrent(Different) categories of these twofactories might lead to numerous distinction in many aspects, which mayconclude the on- job accidents.For example, A is an architecture industry,whileP is a medical industry, the distinction between these two are very common Forthat matter, the author's implication is dubious, and beyond that, draw a hastyconclusion which is based on inadequate evidence about the reciprocity aboutthese two factories.

As the argument goes on, this author onceagain incorrectly assumes that as long as giving workers 1hour's decline willmake them more spirited, even though the author is optimistic with his(his or her) assertion, it is a pitythat no conclusive fact nor any survey is provided to affirm this assumption.While an hour's sparing could do a lot, for instance, they may used it in recreate,instead having a good sleep, or even, they might pursuing a second job for abetter living, so that will inevitably decrease their energy as well as before.Hence, to pursue a sound reasoning, it proves to be the author's responsibilityto mull over his assumption so as to pave the way for a more tenable argument.

In sum, the author, without specificevidence on whether lacking of energy is the real reason of the on-the-jobaccidents, makes a lot of ambiguous implication which does not hold water. Weare hoping to clarify all these unwarranted assumptions, so to make a fairjudgment on this argument.

Are these two industries share the similar factors? --> Are these two industries involve in similar businesses? Are these two industries making similar products?
Also, it says reducing hours in order to improve productivity. This argument has no foundation whatsoever. You might wanna include too.
