In an attempt to attract more tourists, the Swiss government commissioned several life-size fiberglass cow statues ,having them decorated by local artists, and set them up on the streets of Zurich.

选A还是C呢？

我选了A，答案是C。C是很平行，可是我考虑到commission有“委托，任命”意思，选A，用having them decorated by local artists，做状语，逻辑上补充说明了前面的commission。我的考虑对吗？

这里的commission是委托制作的意思.....

况且后面用现在分词表伴随结果并未有明确的cause-and-effect的pattern啊!!

同意vincent，ing形式在主动词后表伴随，而此处是先后发生的两件事情

我觉得逻辑意思是“Swiss政府委托制作statues,”而委托制作的形式就是让local artists来decorate这些statues.所以用伴随状语。我觉得这里“政府委托制作statues"和”让local artists decorate the statues“是解释说明的关系，而不是先后发生的关系。

这里和因果关系有什么关系呀？狗狗能不能说得再清楚些呢？

我倾向于选A，我认为commissioned / decorate / set三个动作不应该是顺序动作，前两个动作显然是一个整体，having them decorated现分表示对commissioned这个动作的补充，所以做状语的意思更合理，虽然C的平行结构似乎也能说得过去，但是我认为A的表达没有错，所以主从还是尊重A。

为什么stoneren gg觉得不是呢？我觉得，先请人制作，然后找local artist装修，最后放到大街上，这三个动作很顺序啊...

我觉得这题应该选C，如果将having them decorated看成主语谓语的伴随的话，后面两个动作的时间上先后的并列逻辑关系就没了，had them decorated by local artists, and set them up on the streets of Zurich；这道题是ETS故意没有把最后一个动作划线，画上线应该很清楚了。
