再顶上来，同问！笔记中的解释是that引导定语从句修饰mice和canary是正确的，但是M的SC中讲在介词短语中touch rule不一定管用，要看介词之前的那个noun，那么按理说that引导的从句也是修饰brain growth的，而不是mice和canary！作者: alzn2765 时间: 2014-5-20 23:26
GMAT的句子有一个核心原则：不能引起歧义。
这句话如果结构平行当然最好，除非——结构平行会引起歧义。
increase本身既可以做名词，也可以做动词。
如果句子写成：brain growth in mice that are placed in a stimulating environment or neurons increase in canaries that...
会不会让人有increase此处是动词的误判呢？会的。如果increase是动词，那么or前后就不平行了（名词词组和句子）。
