标题: OG12 SC33 Because 和 Due to 的用法？
33.Because an oversupplv of computer chips has sent prices plunging, the manufacturer has announced that it will cut production by closing its factories for two days a month.

(A)Because an oversupply of computer chips has sent prices plunging,

(B)Because of plunging prices for computer chips, which is due to an oversupply,

(C)Because computer chip prices have been sent plunging, which resulted from an oversupply,

(D)Due to plunging computer chip prices from an oversupply,

(E)Due to an oversupply, with the result that computer chip prices have been sent plunging,
请教大虾，OG上解释说D是confusing and awkward的，为什么呢？plunging cumpoter chip prices导致了cut production，而这个plunging prices又是from an oversupply的，due to也有因果的含义，为什么不能选D呢？

逻辑上应该是 oversupply of computer chips 导致 price plunging 明确表达了是 computer chips 的 oversupply

D选项里，from an oversupply 只说plunging price 是由于 oversupply 表达不清楚啊是什么 oversupply? 楼主不能主观猜测就是 compter chips 吧？

另外常规来讲，due to 放句首不是GMAT的喜好，特别是在有because 或 because of 的情况下，due to 是正确答案的几率就更低了

Due to means"cause by". It shoud only be used if it can be substitued with "caused by".

It doed not mean the same thing as "because of ",

Incorrect: The game was postponed due to rain.

Correct: The game was postponed because of rain.

Correct: The game's postponement was due to rain.

以后再遇到due to只要把它换成我们熟悉的caused by就清楚多了。

关于 due to 正确答案几率低的问题，楼主不妨自己用word 在 OG 和 prep 的正确句子里搜索一下 due to 这个短语就能体会到了

刚刚自己做了题目，在A 和D 选项中犹豫，而且 due to 用casued by 貌似在这题也解释的通。最后只是觉得A的表达方式比较常见。看了OG 对于d 的解释（因果关系的时间先后）比较，这就是g在考the most effective and te most clearest way. 。。。

因为这里的which指代的是前句价格下降整个现象而不是单单的价格，所以指代confusing，GMAT里which不能指代句子。

【语义判断】根据后一句的cut production by closing factories可以判定，前句想强调地，既不是plunging price，也不是oversupply，而是oversupply导致了plunging price之间事情，所以选A
