本句中确有几个复数名词可以供those指代，但是就句子结构（位于从句中）和逻辑（由consume来指向）来看，除了指向amounts别的都太牵强。

其实是由于those本身的特殊性造成的，因为它既可以是形容词：those humans － 那些人，好比 those cars，那些车...
同时those又可以做代词，指代amounts。
