104. The diet of the ordinary Greek in classical times was largely vegetarian--vegetables, fresh cheese, oatmeal, and meal cakes, and meat rarely.
(A) and meat rarely
(B) and meat was rare
(C) with meat as rare
(D) meat a rarity
(E) with meat as a rarity
The diet of the ordinary Greek in classical times was largely vegetarian......, and (it is) rarely meat.
The state of Nevada is largely desert.
The state of Nevada is largely desert.(desert
首先谢谢石兄认可选项A中两层平行结构的合理性;
I used to read a lot of poetry, largely / mainly love poetry.
显然,朗文认为largely=mainly。
104. The diet of the ordinary Greek in classical times was largely vegetarian--vegetables, fresh cheese, oatmeal, and meal cakes, and meat rarely.
而这个结构中,vegetables, fresh cheese, oatmeal, and meal cakes作为一个词组,and meat rarely./(E) with meat as a rarity是对前面的词组进行补充说明的。
104. The diet of the ordinary Greek in classical times was largely vegetarian--vegetables, fresh cheese, oatmeal, and meal cakes, with meat as a rarity.
