晕,姐姐你一篇一篇发啊,这样被改得概率很小。作者: 韩默默 时间: 2011-11-14 13:40 标题: issue 143 143. Artists should pay little attention to their critics. Criticism tends to undermine and constrain the artist’s creativity.
Those who evaluate works of art, such as novels, films, music, paintings, etc.
Should artists pay little attention to their critics for the reason that the artist’s creativity are easily undermined and constrained under the influence of the criticisms, as the speaker assets? I tend to disagree; although some inappropriate and undue denigrations might have deleterious impact on artists, the speaker overlooks the fact that some positive and beneficial criticism serve as incentives and inspirations for the artists to improve themselves and create more incredible works.
Admittedly, there is no need for artists to pay much attention the outside criticism, especially those are of no value. Apparently, the merit and value of art lies largely in the eye of the individual beholder. Those who admire and appreciate your works will speak highly of it; those who misunderstand and distort your thoughts of the works will find a quarrel in straw. In addition, not every critic is capable of pointing out the artists’ Achilles’ heels, flaws or limitations of their creations due to their own imperfection and weakness, and not every critic is able to understand the artist’s thoughts and feelings because of their different cultural backgrounds and limited knowledge. Furthermore, inferior criticism or criticism taken to the extreme might exert detrimental effect of putting a dent in the artists’ confidence and thus stifle their creativity and imaginary.
Nevertheless, the positive and meaningful criticism is beneficial to the artists for their own sake. The artists, even highly creative and ingenious ones, occasionally become stuck in a rut. So a trained and experienced critic has the ability to help artists evaluate their works and inspire them in order to fine new directions. If an artist is able to synthesize different evaluations and take from them what is valuable and helpful, the outcome may be advancement and improvement of his or her future work. On the contrary, provided an artist is so stubborn and obstinate that do not want to take helpful advices and keep to himself or herself, he or she will stuck in the bottleneck which is a hindrance to progress and make more remarkable works.
After all, the innovative ideas of an artist draws inspiration not merely from other art but from the world around them and from outside positive factors, including the meaningful and valuable criticisms and recommendations, the essence of which artists attempt to capture and convey and then turn the disadvantages into the advantages. A great and intelligent artist does not exclude and reject all the criticisms from the outside world. They are aware of the criticisms and depreciations, rather than undermining and stifling creativity, enable them to realize their drawbacks and to open their minds, as well as to invent works from another angle. Considering the negative words as positive information, an artist can be stimulated to create and invent something different from his or her previous works and produce more original and novel ones.
In the final analysis, the prejudiced criticisms are of no significance and no value, which artists can ignore it. In this way, the artists are not influenced by such injurious words and therefore dampen their enthusiasm to invent creative works. However, whether the positive and constructive criticisms are a blessing or a curse, it is an option for an artists how to view it and how to treat it. In order to make tremendous progress and broaden the horizons, the artists should reject the dross and assimilate the essence among the criticisms which impel them to break through their own blockages and limitations. 作者: 普渡哥 时间: 2011-11-14 13:42
