我也刚看到这里,有点疑惑,简单说说我的想法吧:
[Adjective + Adjective +Noun],这里的两个adj.都是修饰限定后面的这个n.,这两个a.之间并无关系。
[Adverb +Adjective + Noun],这里adv.修饰限定adj.,然后adj修饰限定n.
wrong:James Joyce is Max's SUPPOSEDLY Irish ancestor.
right:James Joyce is Max's SUPPOSED Irish ancestor.
→ 结合上面的公式,不能确定JJ是不是ancestor,但jj一定是irish,所以supposed
修饰限定ancestor,irish
修饰限定ancestor。
wrong:Max's grandmother is his SUPPOSED Irish ancestor.
right:Max's grandmother is his SUPPOSEDLYIrish ancestor
→不能确定grandma是不是irish,但grandma一定是Max的ancestor,所以supposedly
修饰限定irish,irish
修饰限定ancestor。
感觉好像就是 因为这个n或者anj不确定范围,所以用adj或者adv来限定它。。。
不知道自己理解对不对,期待nn们的解答~~~

后面两句应该没有什么太大的问题
wrong:James Joyce is Max's SUPPOSEDLY Irish ancestor.
right:James Joyce is Max's SUPPOSED Irish ancestor.
这两句感觉其实两个都是可以的,关键是你要表达什么
这两种结构的极端结构是像这种 more effective machine,到底more修饰谁是很好玩的事情
