标题: manhattan的几道题感觉和之前学到的好像有点不一样
1。 Acme, the family oriented entertainment company, has moved away from traditional family programming and [now draws on the production both of adult entertainers who work for magazines and of those] in the movie industry.
A.
B.now draws on the works of adult entertainers, both those who work for magazines and those who work
开始我看了平行而且认为A的表达更简洁符合习惯但是ANSWER是B MANHATTAN的解释里面说 A的both离它所修饰的部分太远了我觉得之前都没看见过要注意both修饰位置的而且我觉得both可以修饰production啊这样放production后面不对吗？求nn解答啊

2.The CEO has propsed a new policy requiring [that employees should retain all pensions] indefinitely or be allowed to cash them in at retirement.
A.
B.that all pensions be retained by employess
E.employees to retain all pensions
首先看到OR后面是 BE ALLOWED 想到前面并列是句子应该用that而不是to 但是居然选e啊要是选E 那平行下来OR后面是什么状态啊 require be allow 不需要require that be allow吗谢谢了啊

第二题的确是省略should 但是require that 如果是选那个的话 that不就不在了吗

第一题：正确意思为adult entertainers of x + adult entertainers of y。所以both..and 应该在adult entertainers后面

但是没有require do的结构把，这题下面的解释说只有两种，一种是require that do和require to do啊

both ....and...是连词吧。一般可以连接介词短语，或者是名词，代词。例如 Both Jim and kate have gained high GMAT scores. 或者 we found many ants both on the bed and in the box.

1.如果真的要用production代替works 是不是这样好点now draws on the production of both adult entertainers who work for magazines and those who...
2.另外我认为production 如果是作为作品理解的话，这里应该为复数。
3.而both of entertainers 看起来不顺。因为of entertainers不是一个可以表达独立意义的介词短语（个人理解）
4.MAHATTAN上说A的both没有紧紧挨着修饰词。我的理解MAHATTAN说的修饰词是adult entertainers

both ....and...是连词吧。一般可以连接介词短语，或者是名词，代词。例如 Both Jim and kate have gained high GMAT scores. 或者 we found many ants both on the bed and in the box.

先说第二题哈，or be allowed to 主语是employees，所以B错了，A中should错误，所以选E，require sb to do sth也是有的，关键要和后分句主语一致，如果用从句的话，至少也应该是require that...or that...吧

第一题其实我用猜的。。。就是觉得both of adult entertainers ... and of those...有点怪，不如B清楚（是不是等于没解释。。。）

第一题:
BOTH修饰的是adult entertainers后面定语从句中的成分, 所以位置应该放在adult entertainers之后. 而且从语义上分析, 定语从句是说adult entertainers中既有为magazine工作的, 也有拍movie的.

第二题:
B选项不对. B项是被动语态, 选B的话"be allowed to cash them in at retirement"缺少逻辑主语. 选E就不存在这个问题, 因为E项中的"employees"可作为"be allowed to cash them in at retirement"的逻辑主语.

draws on the adult entertainers ,both(who word for magazines) and (those in the movie industry),明显可以注意到杂志跟电影是并列的，所以修饰的都应该是人，而不是prodcution
同时，从语感角度，B也比A要好的多

在原句句意没有逻辑问题和歧义的情况下我们都保留原句句意在这里原句意思是他们转移重心到另外的production 这是没有问题的
我想之所以会认为“BOTH修饰的是adult entertainers后面定语从句中的成分,”是因为知道答案之后为迎合答案的想法吧但是我们看到A的原意是没有问题的没有理由去改变

第二题
我之前回复了的知道B是错的我是想知道E的结构到底是什么是require sb to do or be done 吗？这样的平行应该是不行的吧

为什么A的意思会错我转移重心到PRODUCTION上这种production即使。。又是。。。这有问题吗？

个人觉得A在语法上是没错的，但是gmat要求选最优，就是 grammar concise 和meaning 都比较好的选项。这道题A和B的区别，就好像 I both know Jim and know mary 和 I know both JIm and Mary 的区别。

IMO:
1. both A and B are correct in terms of grammar. However, their meaning differed. A emphasizes different PROUDCTION, whereas B focus on different kinds of ENTERTAINERS. Obviously, the difference of people is root cause, and should be underlined. Besides, the structure of B is more straightforward, A is "Acme has X and Y and blabla.. both...", B is "Acme has X and Y, both...", see it?
Thus, B is better answer.

2. E structure:
The CEO has .... requiring employees to retain... or [to] be allowed to....
"to" can cover "be allowed"
