题目是这样的，正确答案是A 我当时也选择的是A 但是针对其他几个选项我有一些疑问

C.OG上面的解释是the violation of chronological order is confusing; reference of which is ambigious
为什么会出现时间顺序的混淆呢？它想表达的意思就是因为价格上涨，这个是由于oversupply造成的. 我觉得时间上面是正确的啊
然后which貌似也只能修饰prices吧...

D, OG上面的解释是this backward description of the events behind the announcement of factory closings is confusing and awkward.
我没怎么看懂.. 而且我觉得D答案貌似也没错啊...

但是他后面用的是 which resulted from an oversupply 啊，这不就是说 oversupply先发生，然后这个result了价格上涨啊？

我觉得之所以OG说confusing是因为

Because computer chip prices have been sent plunging, which resulted from an oversupply,

这个选项的顺序很不好很让人迷惑，原句逻辑结构很准确很清楚，是oversupply导致的price plunging，而上面这句话不是很拗口么，改变了原本清晰的时间结构。

第二，什么是resulted from oversupply的？是前面整个情况computer chip prices have been sent plunging, 而不是prices或者plunging，而且plunging在这里也不是做名词，把语序弄成正常语序是：XX have sent prices plunging，这是一个宾语补足语，不是名词。为什么说which ambiguous？因为which在这里无所指，which在gamt中不能指代一整个句子，所以没有可指的先行词，总不能说price是由oversupply导致的吧；其实是价格的上涨是由oversupply导致的，所以说which是ambiguous的。

due to 本来就与result from 同义，本来可以用because一句话表明逻辑关系的话说：由于……，它是……的结果就wordy了

此题关于D的解释我研究了很久，终于得出较为确切的答案，分享给大家：

(D) Due to plunging computer chip prices from an oversupply,
... ..

Agreement; Rhetorical construction
This sentence describes a causal sequence of events: The oversupply of chips caused prices to plunge, which in turn caused the manufacturer to announce factory closings to cut production. The clearest, most efficient way to express this sequence is to present the events in chronological order, as they occurred.

首先，应该要注意OG对这题开头的宏观解释提到，"The clearest, most efficient way to express this sequence is to present the events in chronological order, as they occurred."
也就是说，本题所强调的是，在causal sequence里，应该尽可能按照事物发展的顺序来表述。而本题所提到任何先后顺序指的都是“表述顺序”，而非我们容易误解的“逻辑顺序”。

接着具体分析D选项的解释。如颜色标注，将这句话分为了两部分来解释。

"This backward description of the events"
oversupply-->price plunge ( -->cut production ) 这是事情发展的顺序
而D是price plunge-->oversupply ( -->cut production ) 就叫backward description
而此处"the events"很明显是指"oversupply、price plunge", these 2 events

"behind the announcement of factory closings"
behind很多人又会不理解，不是发生在announcement之前么
这是关于时态的理解，我来造一个句，大家就明白了：
D选项的句子是Due to B, one has done A. →Due to raining, she has brought an umbrella.（因为外面将会下雨，她事先带了一把伞）→B发生在A之后，但是B仍然是A的原因
这与Due to B, one did A. →Due to raining, she brought an umbrella.（因为外面正在下雨，她于是带了一把伞）→B发生在A之前，B也是A的原因
两者是有明显不同的

这也就是为什么D说，the backward description of these 2 events behind the announcement is confusing and awkward 的原因了
Again, it's obviously that the real sequence here should be “oversupply-->price plunge-->cut production”.

当然了，大家可以看出，在这样的句子里使用Due to是很awkward的一般我们不这样说

Due to raining, she has brought an umbrella.
Due to raining, she brought an umbrella.
这两句句子，仅仅作为对时态理解的举例，不能过于当真~

C选项的which，按照Gmat的语法只能向前跳跃指代名词prices，因此price到底是先来自于oversupply，还是先被sent plugging，这里光看时态是分不清楚的（过去时和完成时都发生在现在以前），所以OG说时间顺序confusing；D选项，due to在Gmat里99%是错误选项标志，理由是due to只能跟名词不能跟句子，但是当我们往往要表达一个原因的时候，这个原因往往是一句句子，而不是某一个东西（某一个名词）。

就拿这个题举例，生厂商降低产量的原因是芯片价格供给过多而被抬高，这整个一件事情是原因，所以用becuase+句子的表达最恰当。如果换成due to，就算加了语法上讲得通的形容词或者定语从句，这个原因的重心依然是某一个词，而不是某一个现象。D选项中，这个中心词就是prices。生产商不是因为“价格”而削减产量，而是因为“价格被抬高”而削减产量。你如果能够明白这两者的区别，你就能够明白为什么gmat中due to结构基本上都是错误的。

看到猴哥的链接我也来说下看法，非常赞同#16楼的观点。
其实这题就是考逻辑，读懂句意之后，看选项开头就能选了，只能是A.

提炼下句意：
Because an oversupply has sent price plunging, ...that it (the manufacturer) will cut production...

oversupply 完美对应cut production (i.e. cut supply)
oversupply造成了不利的后果(price plunging)，所以导致cut production

所以因果关系必须用句子体现：Because an oversupply has sent price plunging

首先是句意的理解：句子说的是三件事1）oversuplly of compuler chips 译为电脑chips的过度供给 2) has sent price plunging使价格下降（plungingadj.跳进的；突然往下的-源于辞海) 3）manufacturer has annuouced that +从句译为制造商决定关闭工厂每月两天以减少产量。由于供应大了，价格跳水了，制造商要减少产量，应该不是价格上升，你是不是句意看错了

语法上讲， due to, because of 后面要跟直接原因，简单的原因，不会跟复杂事件的，上来就可以否掉BDE,从A,C 看找答案。C ，造成了供应上涨后面跟制造商减产的动作，会让读者认为，供应商减产是因为供应量上涨了，其实原意是因为价格跳水了，所以要减产。 OG上的那句话，the clearest, (清楚的，指的就是句意表达清楚）， most efficient way to express this sequence is to present the events in chronological order, as they occurred! 前面有的战友说which 用的不对，我到觉得C中which 语法没什么问题， which 是不能引导从句，但后面也不是从句啊， resulted from an oversupply, 是个分词短语，不过再往下看，连上the manufacturer has ...,句子就显得支离破碎了，应该在the manufacture前加个连词，这样看来C从句意上和语法上都不通，那一定选A了

句子结构 X, Y ，连词 Z没有连词句子就支离破碎了，但是 Y 是同位语除外，不过如果Y是同位语，那X一般不是句子而是名词或名词短语作句子的主语， Y是谓语加宾语，这样的结构从大的结构来看是SVO的简单句型

这题感觉OG对选项的解释很不靠谱，LZ们努力挖掘OG解释背后的深层含义似乎越走越偏。
以下是我的理解，有不对求讨论。

OG解释这题唯一可取之处在于总体解说段。

OG思路：

原文表达一个 causal sequence，oversupply-->prices plunging-->manufacturer announcing

The clearest, most efficient way to express this sequence is to present the event in chronological order, as theyoccurred.

从大方面来看，选项B，C和E的共同错误是使用了nonessential modifier，都逗号间断，使得oversupply或prices plunging中必有其一变成可以被忽略的内容。选项D正如OG所言，backward description，句首就是Due to plunging prices，之后再加介词结构from...连上oversupply，看起来主要意思就是plunging prices-->manufacturer announcing，似乎不能说错，但起码比起A遗漏了许多含义。另外，不确定from是否在限制时间或逻辑顺序的作用方面有瑕疵，但起码它不如A中的has sent毫无歧义地表达了oversupply-->pricies plunging的逻辑/时间关系。

从细节看各个错误选项问题太多了。

B) Because of plunging prices for computer chips, which is due to an oversupply,

OG解释which指代prices。不能认同，which指代首先考虑的是最近的Noun，只有这个名词完全不可能被指代（比如是person或和谓语动词单复数不合）时才往远了考虑Noun1 + 介词 + Noun2结构中的Noun1，即这个选项中的prices，但因为prices也是复数和is不搭配，所以这里which也不能指代prices，which根本就无可指代。

C) Because computer chip prices have been sent pluunging, which resulted from an oversupply,

不明白这里的which为什么不能指代prices？原则不是the closet Noun it can refer to? 是因为离得太远了所以才容易造成歧义吗？

D) 最致命错误在于:

If you replace the correct choice with this one, then you're obliged to describe the following noun, which is "the manufacturer".

The manufacturer is not due to plunging chip prices, so that's nonsense.

"Due to" only modifies the noun it touches and "Because/Because of" only modifies the entire clause/idea.
