一道去年JJ,请牛牛指教!

1. rain forests contain more trees, and in higher density, than any other ecological system.

than 下面划线，这是最简单的一个sc了，只有一个单词划线。第一眼没仔细想，差点选错，答案里有than, than that of, than those of, than does, 还有一个不记得了，应该是错的，最后选了than does.

我觉的是 THAN. 因为比较的是主语.

举例:Although the pace of exploitation of wetland resources perhaps did not parallel that of the felling of virgin timber or the breaking of the prairies, they now constitute one of the last frontiers of unutilized land and, for this reason, are dwindling in acreage faster than any other ecological system.

我觉得这道题从语法的角度，than和than does都对，如果没有than does，则选than,这里谓语动词可以省略。补出谓语动词关键是看补出的对不对，这里的does指代了contain。OG里有好多这样的题，欢迎继续讨论。

我认为这里必须补出does，否则句意模糊，A contains more B than C，比较对象可能变成B和C

嗯，stoneren教过我这个。我还是想再问一下哈，如果是 A is more adj. than B 这样的比较，是不是就不用在B后面补出is 了？还有，A can do more adv. than B，还用补出can吗？比如：I can run faster than you (can/do).

stoneren说的有道理，但是还想作个补充，这题是N(A)+V+N(B) Than N(C),A,B,C都是实意名词，所以会造成歧义。

A is more adj. than B or A can do more adj than B中adj就不会和B产生歧义，可以省略。但是如果答案同时出现 A can do more adj than B can和 A can do more adj than B，还是应该优先选择补出，当然补出一定要补对，前面是情态动词或者系动词比较的后半部分也应该是对应的情态动词或者系动词，如果补错了，则该选项错误，如I can run faster than you do。
