However, biocontrol agents can negatively affectnontarget species by, for example, competing with them forresources: a biocontrol agent might reduce the benefits conferred by adesirable animal species by consuming a plant on which the animal prefers tolay its eggs. Another example of indirect negativeconsequences occurred in England when a virus introduced to control rabbitsreduced the amount of open ground (because large rabbit populations reduce theground cover), in turn reducing underground ant nests and triggering the extinctionof a blue butterfly that had depended on the nests to shelter its offspring.
先翻译下标记的句子吧。
看结果是不是我这样理解的：virus=> ↓rabbits       A
                                       ; rabbits=>↓ground cover   B
A+B=> virus=>↑ground cover=> ↓open ground=>↓underground ant nests=>↓shelters for blue butterfly offspring=> extinction of a blue butterfly


所以这个example讲得是连锁反应（间接影响）咯？而之前example是竞争事物（直接影响）？

当时我做这篇文章的时候也有这个问题，但是后来被男友一句点醒了。。。。文中说的是
  Virus 抑制（减少了开阔空地的）兔子，反过来减少了地下蚂蚁的巢穴，这让（依赖蚂蚁巢穴产卵的）蝴蝶灭绝了。括号里的是定语，不用管，那句子的主干就是病毒抑制兔子，反过来减少蚂蚁的巢穴，然后让蝴蝶灭绝了，对吧？至于它为什么减少，怎么减少，你管那么多干嘛～人家告诉你是 in turn 了，那就是 in turn ，这是文章的逻辑，之前我也一直在纠结，这个逻辑到底是啥，其实文章的逻辑已经告诉我们了，那就是病毒抑制兔子，进而减少巢穴，进而蝴蝶灭绝。over！

而且，这个例子和上一个例子一样，是为了说明生物控制会对非目标的生物产生影响。因为在举了一个例子之后，他说Another example of indirect negative consequences，如果作者是为了强调“间接”的话，为啥要说Another呢？比如我说，一个例子是。。。。再举一个间接影响的例子。。。。那不就说明这俩例子是一个性质的吗？不然就直接说：一个例子是。。。。。一个间接影响的例子是。。。。。而且貌似整篇文章和直接间接没啥关系吧
