RT。这是我在Iphone Apps “beat the gmat”上看到的一道verbal问题。
Flashcard如是写道:
Watch out for caparison of actions/inanimate objects performing campared actions:
INCORRECT: "French wines taste better than Australian wines." (Implies wines are tasting.)
CORRECT: "French wines taste better than Australian wines do."
                  "French wines taste better than Australian wines taste."
                  "French wines taste better than do Australian wines."
不理解的是:
1.原句错在哪里?BETTER THAN这种比较不是可以自动忽略相同的动词么?
2.正确句子第三个,为什么采用倒装方式,难道这样不是犯了结构不并列的错误么?

请各位同学们指教。

看比较的是动词还是名词了。因为句子里面比较的是动词taste,所以than后面的动词不能省略。如果比较的是名词wine,than后面的名词wine可以省略。
如果比较名词,句子可以是这样的:

比较taste ( as a noun.)
French wines have better taste than taste that Australian wines have.=French wines have better taste than Australian wines.

或者是比较wine (noun.):
French wines are better than Australian wines.
