The Arthritis Research Institute of America advises women of color that they have twice the likelihood to get osteoarthritis of the knee as do White women.

B. that they are twice as likely as White women to get osteoarthritis of the knee

C. that their likelihood of getting osteoarthritis of the knee is twice as much as White women

D. of being twice as likely as White women to get osteoarthritis of the knee

E. of having twice the likelihood of getting osteoarthritis of the knee as White women

The given answer is A,but I prefer B. Can someone help me ?

likelihood of ... is twice as much as 表达不符合习惯

sorry, Juan, 我错把BC看成AB了，所以对C的错误给出了解释。

答案应该是B，A中they have twice the likelihood中的twice表达意思很模糊，而且这种表达也不及B简洁。

不过我倒没觉得A中twice表达模糊。我只是觉得只有the likelihood of ...和the likelihood that...没有the likelihood to do ..的用法。你觉得呢？

twice从句意上应该修饰likelihood，而不是have这个动词，但是twice是个副词，所以只能修饰have，所以B就避免了这个问题，twice修饰likely

这题我选D。觉得A、B、C中的advises women of color that+从句有问题。剩下只有在D、E中选，E的表达明显罗嗦，所以选D。

谢谢！对的，应该是B。

偶原来一直记着XDF的说法：V+sb. +that一定错！－这条不是绝对错的！大全里也有convince sb. that的例句。
