我觉得楼主挺勇敢的,不适合自己也没有必要勉强自己。学术这个事情本来就是没有兴趣就很难坚持下去,这也是为啥这个版上好多人申请定位的时候judy版主总是要蹦出来拷问到底是不是有兴趣读下去。。。anyway,祝楼主好运。

I strongly disagree with judy. i don't think most phd students had any idea about what the research is before getting into the programme. Well, they might have some ideas, but usually very basic. Most people became interested in doing reserach after they actually DO it, including myself.
My advice to those who want to purpue a phd is 'take a try first'. Life is uncertain. you never know what you'd like, and what you'd not. quit if you find you don't like it later on. at least, you wouldn't regret in future. don't listen to those scrap advice such as "do you really like doing research?" how can u know it in advance
