the chemical irritant指代前面的什么？render harmless的主语是什么？，这句话怎么分析？

能补全一下翻译吗？

翻译:“实际上在每种动物的组织里，dioxin导致酶的产生,酶即是有机体的企图去代谢,或使化学刺激物(dioxin)无害”

感觉就是有机体为代谢或使化学刺激物(dioxin)无害而产生酶.

一点猜测,仅供参考.

偶觉得render harmless的主语应该是organism。因为从语法上讲，这个infinitive是organism发起的。

翻译的，偶觉得很好。

不知对不对？

chemical不是作metabolize的宾语吗？
