想问个菜菜的while和also用法。


1，  连词，A, 中的while occasionally she deals with racial issues，应该是没有错的。While前要不要逗号。


2，  while doing sth, 这里while词性是什么


3，  also是副词，不能连接句子对吗？

1 － A中while occasionally she deals with和D中while occasionally dealing的主语是不同的，前者while从句中主语是she，后者while从句中主语是the themes；

2 － while doing sth是做时间状语，当主语重复时被省略，且助动词一并省略；

3 － also可以做副词，也可以做连词；但是，GMAT中一般仅仅将also作为副词考虑，所以当联系两个句子时一般用and also。

谢谢stoneman, 如果是状语从句，那么while前逗号就可加可不加了，对吗？因为逗号，分号也是og一个重要的考点。

从OG和longman的例子来看，当while在句中，表达相同主语时，while前一般不加逗号；当while引导的是转折句时，前面可以加逗号。

这道题明显还有问题嘛，谁注意到了ｅｘｐｌｏｒｅｓ三单现的用法，说明后面应该用ｉｓ啊，

A：is错；个人觉得encompassing much of the human condition修饰不清

B：is错；also不能连接两个句子；encompassing much of the human condition是一个squinting modifier

C：run-on sentence；deals单数不一致

D：正确

E：run-on sentence；are dealing时态inconsistent

查了字典，想明确一点：
also只有副词词性，没有连词词性

主词为themes, (1), (2)用单数动词is, （3)用deals, 错

＝>剩(4), (5)比较

（4)以while为连接词, 平衡encompassing与dealing, 合乎平衡用法, 正确

（5)原句句意为themes做了两件事, （5)试图以also做连接词平衡are universal与are dealing造成平衡用法错误, 使they只修饰themes而改变句意

现在脑子不清楚， 请教下encompassing...是修饰主句还是主句中的主语（The themes）。它是当定语呢还是当状语？
