1、growing分词短语在这里可以做定语也可以做状语，有歧义。排除BC

2、E中it多余，错。

3、as big as 30 feet long好象不够简洁，而30 feet long已足够表示清楚意思，因此选A不选D。

This question shows why ETS sucks.

"can grow as big as 30 feet long" is definitely correct. But when it is put with "can grow to be 30 feet long", native English speakers will go with the latter because the latter is more concie and hence better.

我当时做的时候也是在A和D之间选不定，A的be不爽，D的as big as 30 feet long也不好

不过看了讨论还是觉得A稍微好点

我也选了D, 不过后来觉得选A比较好, 感觉D里面big和long语义有点重复, 虽然语法上没有错误. 就像不能说increase up to或decrease down to一样
