我认为应该是E，无论written的定语修饰对象是谁，Black Americans这个复数肯定错，小说一般都是一个人写的；而且，从平行的角度，E最好。

three best novels决定了只能用black Amercians, 而B的并列形式最好。

we can find that the novel is among the three best novels , obviously , the three books are not written by one black American . moreover, the ------- Native Son by Richard Wright and Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison support the claim i've made above .

A is flaw. cause it is three novels ----including Native Son by Richard Wright and Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison. not the three writers .

1. The novel, Cane by Jean Toomer, is the subject of the sentence. Therefore, in the second part of the sentence, which starts with "the others", the "others" should also be novels (not people).

2. Each book was written by a single individual, not by a group. Therefore, it should be "written by a Black American" rather than "by Black Americans".

3. In addition, answer E does a nice job of listing all three books in a consistent way. (i.e. "Jean Toomer's Cane". "Richard Wright's Native Son", Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man")

有必要说一句，注意定冠词the 是放在three 前的而不是one 前的，所以应该是黑人s，而不是黑人

1. 从句子结构和完整性的角度出发:

选E的人一定理解为: the one (of the best novels) is written by a black American ----written by 修饰one

然而, 这样理解似乎更加合理: one of the best novels, which are written by black Amereicans and which including Native Son by Richard Wright and Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison (即: written by 以及破折号后面的内容都是用来修饰the best novels) 这样看来句子更加完整. 且避免了E选项中把句子分成两个拥有不同subjects的independant clause. ETS不喜欢

2.从句子意思出发: 题目的主句是: A mixture of poems and short fiction, Jean Toomer’s Cane has been called one of the three best novels. 显然, 后面的内容皆为补充说明, 而E选项让整个题目内容陈述了两件非并列的事件, 有宣兵夺主的嫌疑

[DS1]这里破折号起解释说明作用;比较CD22的5套- GWD7-Q4也是解释前面的7个人，所以fewer就不会有修饰movie，的嫌疑

在这里答案应该选E，因为 one of the three best novels ever written by Black Americans—the others 为了忠实原文

必须保证others然而用including则明显少了一本书，有逻辑缺陷。

不知在下的解释是否合理。
我觉得本题选E而不选B，关键在于平行对称
提干给出 “Jean Toomer’s Cane has been called one of the three best novels ever ” ，
本题就是在比较三本小说，所以三本小说在形式上必须对称。
所以E选项中的 “the others being Richard Wright's Native Son and Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man.” 显然要比B选项中的 “including Native Son by Richard Wright and Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison” 要更将符合平行对称得原则。

虽然GMAT中不喜欢being的出现，但是这条只是一条empirical的总结而已，在OG上从来都没有出现过，而平行对称的用法是在OG和PREP上反复强调的，所以，平行对称应该要优于不选being许多

这题A是正确的选项，因为B中的including暗指除了这三位作家，还有**，**，**的作品，A的being没有这个问题~
