A选项后面给的解释是It指代的是weight所以错了，是因为but前后两个句子要平行，所以它们两句话的主语如果有指代的话则也要是一直的么？不然的话it 不是可以指代discus吗？如果是这个原因，那and是否也是这样？还有哪些词也这样？

我是这样理解的，你看看～～
在A选项中，
首先，it是but这个句子的主语，它指代主句的主语，这是没有异议的。
其次，it不可能指代discus，因为主句主语是the weight of the discus，中心词是weight；of the discus是修饰weight的介词短语，不可能被指代到。

1. 用and连接的两个句子，如果主语一致（本题中都为 Josephine Baker），会很清晰~
2. 未划线部分she remained in France与划线部分JB made Paris her home平行
3. 副词短语long...放句首比较清晰
4. it是形式主语，不是指代
