标题: 求教一道旧题(GWD 13 - 8)

A new hair-growing drug is being sold for three times the price, per milligram, as the drug's maker charges for another product with the same active ingredient.

C. that

D. of what

E. at which

记得这道题以前热烈讨论过，不过我现在找不到了。不记得当时有没有讨论出个结果.....

我选C.有人能指点一下我吗?谢谢先了.

C对，that引导定从，charge price搭配可行。

the given answer is D, but I stick to C, and I feel so confused about how D can be qualified to be a correct answer. I didn't find the idiom of "charge sth. of price" from Longman & Webster.

BTW: what is your opinion about another question about minivan:

A. Minivans carry as many as 7 passengers and, compared with most sport utility vehicles, cost less, get better ..., allow....and have....

C. Minivans, carrying as many as seven passengers, compared with most sports utilitie vehicles, cost less......

which one do you prefer? I still prefer A.

很久没有再去看那道题，记得LES是强烈反对A的，她的观点我认为也有道理，但是，对于那道题，我也至今还是坚持A，因为逻辑上A最合理。但是，不得不指出，我同时坚信考试时不会遇到这种题目，因为我不觉得那道题的语法思路完全正确，无论哪个是正确答案，都有缺陷。同时建议你不要将过多的精力放到那道题上，其实语法逻辑思路清楚就已经达到目的了，不要捡了芝麻，丢了西瓜，有时间，还是多看看OG吧。

I think it's E, because the idiomtic saying "the price at which A sells some product".

As for the minivan, I'm pretty sure it's A. One thing about stupid English like GMAT is: you almost never use present progressive.

Charge...

a (1) : to impose a financial burden on *charge his estate with debts incurred* (2) : to impose or record as financial obligation *charge debts to an estate*

b (1) : to fix or ask as fee or payment *charges $50 for an office visit* (2) : to ask payment of (a person) *charge a client for expenses*

c : to record (an item) as an expense, debt, obligation, or liability *charged a new sofa*

应选C, that用于限制性定语从句，但是名词和that中间有插入语是可以的

the price 后接什么取决于从句的动词是否及物,及动词宾语和the price的关系,例
the price that they charges for this product => they charge this price for this product.
the price at which they sold the house => they sold the house at this price
the price of what they got from this store. => they got those books from this store. =>

maybe discuss this question now is a bit too late.. but i think the correct answer is D.

since price is not the drug itself, it needs "of" to distingguish itself and its price. therefore, "of" is necessary. if we choose as, than, that, that means we consider price of that drug is the drug itself..

not sure whether what i think is correct
