题干:A nation should maintain a highly competitive educational system  ---encourage the students to compete with each other and against students in other countries---- to ensure its own economic success.

思路:

Time witnesses human being’s extraordinary progress. It’s no doubt that A nation’s development heavily depends on its education. The issue whether a nation should maintain a highly competitive educational system links up with a country’s fate, therefore it arouses concerns not only from families but also from government. When dragged with this hotly debated argument, different people have different perspectives due to their various comprehensions and experiences. From my point of view, to judge this argument is a mated of balancing its pros and cons.

To begin with, I want to quote a famous saying “No pressure, no progression”. Pressure from your competitors could strongly motivate you to go to a great length on your way triumph. Take the example of APPLE as considered. Without the powerful competitors such as Google and Microsoft, it’s fallacious to image that Apple could achieve such a unbelievable success as the being the first place of the Top 500 Corporations. Undeniable, Jobs is prominent leader also the most determinant factor of Apple’s resplendent achievement, but no one could guarantee that he can go so far as if there aren’t a Gates or Eric ever existed. As is the case in education, students could have much motivation when they are got after other strong competitors.

In addition, the further reason I advocate a highly competitive educational system is that students can get in touch with many other outstanding temporaries through competitions. In the culture of Kung Fu, one can obtain valuable experience and toughen himself in the way of participating high level combat. As we know, triumph is always based on a collective power of a group of people but not one’s own effort, and prominent individuals can build his own circle through knowing more like-minded people. For example, my friend David Li collaborated with his friends, top students he met through a international math competition, to construct a complicated mathematical model that is published in Mathematic Magazine and as a result he is granted a full fellowship by University of Columbia
. Anyway, competition produced not merely friction, but also a combined strong power.

The last but not least, every coin has its two sides. To some extent, pressure should be kept in a hospitable level, or it will produce negative side-effect. Just like every spring has its limitation, students also shouldn’t be put under a overstressed atmosphere. One could become depressive and hopeless as if he regards the goal as unattainable. Combination of effort and rest is also one of the most important factors contribute to progression. So many suicides from students who could not bear the stress any more we have heard, to find the way sort the balance of pressure and relaxation out should be the main goal of our nation’s education sector.

To conclude, we should pay much attention to not only students’ progression but even their post-class loosening.Youths have already raised their awareness about responsibility for the construction of our nation, once they gain assistance from the collective society, the promising future is well in sight.
