(1)“like与最近的中心词平行”这句话其实是对的，但是最近的中心词是number，而不是car accidents哦。这句话修正一下“like后的名词与最近名词短语的中心词要概念上绝对平行”。对于平行连接词的用法，务必每一个都牢固掌握。平行连接词不多，而且是sc的必考点。GMAC是个黔驴，考来考去基本上就考几个大点，早已经技穷了。
(2)其实这里since引导的是时间状语从句，整句讲的是自从管制放松以后出现的一个现象。
since即便表示因果关系，里面也暗含了“时间上起始点”含义的，所以since表示因果的时候，那个结果必须是“顺其自然、显而易见、必定会发生”的结果，比如Since you are unable to answer, perhaps we should ask someoneelse.以及Since we've no money we can't buy a new car.。而这里，车祸的增加显然不是一个“管制放宽的必然结果”。

3. “since后面不能接完成时态”——oucmhy
since后面还是可以用完成时态的：She has never come to see me since I have lived in the city.，不过此时since从句的谓语动词必须是延续性动词(如be动词)，而不能是像relax这样的瞬时动词，所以这个题目里用现在完成时确实是错误的。

做题小tips：
除了那些划线部分极短的题目，大部分SC题目都至少涉及两个考点。平时训练的时候要培养两种意识和习惯：第一，对典型的signal 敏感；第二，从自己熟悉和擅长的知识点切入，从大考点切入！在主流面前，别让非主流迷乱了你的双眼。

我觉得是E
首先这句话的意思是faulty brakes导致的事故数量和faulty wiring导致的事故一样在manufacturing的regulation放松以后都增长了很多。
事故数量可数名词用the number of 排除AB 比较的是事故的数量，比较对象一致。所以排除D 然后这边强调的是数字 the number，谓语动词用单数...就E了...

由于car accidents是可数名词，所以应该用The number of，而不用The amount of，所以排除AB选项。

顶一个，我来插楼的~大家回答都很好很积极呀~毛毛姐这个活动办得灰常好哈~umm....其实这个题目我个人觉得问题主要在since上（like等等滴问题都比较“GMAT”~），since这个词后面可以跟很多的内容，比如说，一个开始的时间点，从句啊等等~这个题目since后面是一个从句。其实表时间的since从句（还有一种是表原因的）后面的时态可以是完成时（现在和过去）和过去时。主要看要表达的内容。举个例子，I have known Peter since I have lived in America. 和 I have known Peter since we were at scholl together. 这道题目的“regulation”是在一个时间点被放松的，所以选择过去时，而不是完成时~所以排除的原因并不该是since后面的语法问题~

顶一个，我来插楼的~大家回答都很好很积极呀~毛毛姐这个活动办得灰常好哈~umm....其实这个题目我个人觉得问题主要在since上（like等等滴问题都比较“GMAT”~），since这个词后面可以跟很多的内容，比如说，一个开始的时间点，从句啊等等~这个题目since后面是一个从句。其实表时间的since从句（还有一种是表原因的）后面的时态可以是完成时（现在和过去）和过去时。主要看要表达的内容。举个例子，I have known Peter since I have lived in America. 和 I have known Peter since we were at scholl together. 这道题目的“regulation”是在一个时间点被放松的，所以选择过去时，而不是完成时~所以排除的原因并不该是since后面的语法问题~
