答案选E，可是我怎么都搞不懂A怎么错了，书上说A错的原因是in the letters可以修饰 the great eruption of Vesuvius ，也可以修饰 the only eyewitness account ，而造成逻辑不清，我觉得这个有点常识的人都知道great eruption of Vesuvius 不可能发出in the letters的动作啊。。这就像有一次我遇到的犀牛角那道题，有一个选项也是说犀牛角可以指代犀牛，也可以指代人，可是，人怎么可能有犀牛角，难道GMAT考试不考常识吗？

我也遇到，通过常识判断，指代没有问题的题。
这道题，我觉得原文的意思是想表达，在给T的信中，E写了亲眼见证了的维苏威火山的喷发。而有歧义的A会表达成，E写了亲眼见证维苏威火山的喷发，这个火山在它和T的信中提到过的。没有违背常识吧。但是意思不一样了~~不知道ＬＺ理解没有

楼主姐姐，你这么一说，我到觉得明白你的意思，但是我觉得一定要把in the letters to T 当作火山的定语，还是牵强，很牵强

名词的modifer要紧跟它修饰的名词但是句子的逻辑意思不是说他看到过了信中提过的火山喷发，而是跟别人写信说自己看到了火山喷发。要看句子的逻辑意思来吧所以了解句子的逻辑意思就要避免修饰歧义这是gmat喜欢考试的吧

请看ogth12 113题同样有个修饰的问题，oil fileds of large sea areas under provisions of the new maritime code, under 这个介词就是修饰前面那个areas ，语法讲得通，但是句子的逻辑意思不是这样的。
