Scientists have made genetic modifications to cotton to increase its resistance to insect pests. According to farmers' report, the amount of insecticide needed per acre to control insect pests was only slightly lower for those who tried the modified seed than for those who did not. Therefore, since the modified seed costs more than ordinary seed without producing yields of higher market value, switching to the modified seed would be unlikely to benefit most cotton farmers economically.

答案是D，
不知道如何排除E，感觉E好像也有关
而D选项说的是亩数，题里面给了每亩平均，不知道D如何与题目相关

d就是说一共可以节约多少钱，然后和原来的增加的cost相比，看谁多谁少，来决定是否采用是合理的

农药的total cost=total area*insecticide needed per acre *insecticide price
我们只知道两种物种的 insecticide needed per acre 差别不大，所以我们不知道农药的total cost是是不是也差别不大，我们还需要知道total area差别大不大

E选项在强调农民试用改良种子的动机
而原文的结论强调改良种子是否有经济优势
其实离得挺远的～

TN-24里面的题号是T-3-Q3，答案是B。理由是B中other crop包含modified seed

只是现在看来似乎D也有一定道理：要论证modified seed和ordinary seed的amount of pestcide per arce比较下来差不多的观点，首先要求这个比较要基于双方相同的条件，比如总亩数相同，否则总亩数多的一方会产生摊薄作用。不过这么想的话，好像又有点over-reasoning了

这题我也做错了，GWD的逻辑很多都很tricky，我当时的感觉是没一个是对的。我怎么记得答案是B???
