In the first pair of parallel verbs, will does not
need to be repeated because it is understood.

B And to protect distorts meaning, suggesting
that protection comes in addition to the
standardized way; foiling is not parallel to
to protect.
C Way for should instead be way of; the
pronoun reference in while it protects is
ambiguous; construction suggests that
protection comes from something other
than the standardized way. it为毛指代不清呢？按单复数来看离它最近的单数名词就是a standardized way of……了呀~
D Pronoun they has no referent; use of while
suggests that protection comes from
something other than the standardized way
of distribution. while引导的从句里的they优先指主句的主语the
recording industry associations of……么？
E And it will protect distorts meaning,
suggesting that protection comes in addition
to the standardized way; will protect and
foiling are not parallel. 这里的意思是and it在与主句平行，好像在指the
recording industry associations of……么？可是从单复数上来讲，指不了啊……

这是OG诊断里的题，实在没找到讨论贴~~希望NN帮助解答以上几个疑问啊！~灰常感谢啊啊啊！~

D。they指代associations 但逻辑意思不对。应该是a standard way来protect

谢谢啦！~另外关于D啊~while引导的从句里的主语是优先指代主句的主语嘛？就是说~只要形式上可以指主句主语~就认为是指主句主语？

我觉得从做题的角度来说，可以这样看：
先看idiom,这里可以有两种表达，一种way of... 一种to do；所以只能排除C

然后看指代，Manhattan里面给出的建议是，有些指代即使语法题本身都有问题，也就是说没有100%的绝对真理，这里我个人觉得，我们要揣测出题思路，按照Manhattan的说法，指代错误只出现在：在相同位置，有些选项用指代，而有些可以不用；在这种情况下，优先选择不用指代的选项

谢谢啦！~虽然指代不清是相对错误~可是我最近总结有时候觉得正确的句子也会有指代上的别扭~比如说从句主语优先指主句主语之类~但是也有正确的句子指宾语啊啥的（我也知道是相对错误）……然后OG上对其他题一些题错误选项的解释又会说~他这里这个代词啊（做主语的）貌似是在指前面的主语啊（可是有的题明明从单复数上来看就不能指嘛！）~所以illogical了~搞的我很纠结……不过我想是不是我过分纠结于细节了……sigh 现在做题的时候除非是明显的指代绝对性错误我都不敢用指代的规则来排除选项~~~
