知道了答案是B，可是还是不明白，为什么说别的选项the united states要加in，为什么B项中的不用加？

我知道别的选项是怎么错的啊，知识不明白B中的in the united state钱为什么不用保持平衡加in，不过还是谢谢了。

in A and B 还是in A and in B
如果A和B是属于同一类别的名词，那在不会引发歧义的情况下，可以用in A and B
D、E中US不加the容易引起比较对象上的歧义，而这一问题在B中就不会出现

觉得如果是B的话，people是泛指，而且人不能同时在F&US，所以就没有D中的歧义。D中没有in的话，可以理解为法国和美国（共同）的rate。

我也有疑问B的in加不加的问题。我看了很多帖子关于单复数问题具体如下：

但rate在这里如果是单数的话，就是一个个体，后面is about the same。这个要比较最起码都要两个对象以上。那么一个rate 怎么能说 about same呢！并且你可以看到后面的their death rates ，也可以推断用复数！
但是B选项的in 的问题还没搞懂求大牛现身！！
